Here’s everything you need to make your own batch of chocolate cake pops with Luji's Chocolate.

Simple Cake Pops

Ingredients

  • 1 box of yellow cake
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting
  • 20 ounces of Luji's Milk Chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Your choice of decorations (sprinkles, mini marshmallows, cookie crumbles, etc.)
  • Cake-pop sticks, or Bamboo Skewers

    Instructions

    Step 1: Bake the Cake
Prepare the cake according to the box instructions, then let it cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Cake Mixture
Once cooled, crumble the cake into fine pieces in a large bowl. Add one cup of frosting and mix well. Test the consistency by rolling a small amount into a ball; it should hold together without cracking. If it’s too crumbly, gradually add more frosting until the mixture holds.

Step 3: Form the Cake Balls
Roll the mixture into small balls, aiming for 24 to 40 balls in total. Place them on a lined baking sheet.

Step 4: Coat with Luji’s Chocolate
Melt Luji's Milk Chocolate with 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil until smooth.

Step 5: Assemble the Cake Pops
Dip about half an inch of each cake-pop stick into the melted chocolate, then insert it halfway into a cake ball. Place the cake balls in the fridge for about an hour to let the chocolate set.

      Step 6: Dip and Decorate
After chilling, dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, coating it fully. Add your chosen decorations before the chocolate hardens. Allow the cake pops to set completely before serving. Enjoy!

Tips for the Perfect Cake Pops

      • Use Quality Chocolate Luji's Milk Chocolate is the perfect choice for coating these cake pops, adding a creamy richness that elevates this dessert from standard to exceptional.
      • Keep Cake Pops Round: To prevent flat sides, place the cake pops upright in the fridge. Use a Styrofoam block or cake pop stand to hold them in place, or flip a colander or drying rack upside down and insert the sticks into the holes. Pre-chilling the cake balls for 15-20 minutes before inserting sticks can also help maintain their shape.
      • Chill Before Dipping: Chilling the cake balls before dipping makes them easier to coat, helping the chocolate adhere better and minimizing crumbling
      • Customize Toppings: Get creative with your decorations! Try crushed nuts, colorful sprinkles, or a drizzle of contrasting chocolate for a unique touch.
